Arsenal to say bye to nine players in summer clear-out!

There is no doubt that there are a few players at the club that many fans would like to see the back of when the summer transfer window opens up as they are pretty much useless. And we have continually seen boss Arsene Wenger keep hold of them, but that is about to change as he plans a clear out in the summer.
Andrey Arshavin and Sebastien Squillaci have already been told they will not be given new contracts when their deals expire in the summer and will be the first to go.
And they will be abruptly followed by Nicklas Bendtner, Park Chu-Young, Marouane Chamakh, Denilson, Andre Santos, Vito Mannone and Johan Djourou, who have all been made available for transfers according to reports on the Metro website.
There has been talk of new faces coming in and Wenger said he would only buy if he got rid of players, so we are fully expecting to see the money raised from these sales to go on new signings that will hopefully get us back where we belong.
The deadwood are costing us money and I cannot wait to see the back of them come the end of the season.

WE ARE IN TALKS WITH ARSENAL, HE COULD JOIN THEM IN JUNE

The 27-year-old will not sign an extension with the La Liga club and is set to depart the San Mames at the end of the current campaign because of it.
Amorebieta’s agent,  says there are a lot of options available for the defender to consider, but states his client wants to join a Premier League side and  could well be his chosen destination.
Carvajal said:
‘We are in talks with Arsenal, he could join them in June.
‘We have had some contact with Anzhi [Makhachkala], they were ready to make a good offer, but my client wants to play in England so the transfer to Russia was not possible.’
Since breaking through the Bilbao first-team in 2005, Amorebieta, who can operate both as a full-back or centre-back, has made a total of 233 appearances for the Basque club and has been capped eight times for Venezuela.
Known for his versatility, hard-tackling and position, Amorebieta would certainly offer us more options in defence and would be an astute signing for us this summer.

Five players Arsenal should buy this summer

1. Stevan Jovetic (Fiorentina) Arsenal are thought to have made a deadline day for Fiorentina star striker Stevan Jovetic, dubbed...

After Saturday’s dismal FA Cup defeat against Blackburn, Arsena’s season is in very real danger of imploding once again…
With the Gunners well off the pace in the Premier League and facing a tricky Champions League last-16 tie with Bayern Munich, Arsenal are facing an eighth successive trophy-less season.
But boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly been handed a £70m warchest to rebuild his squad this summer. We examine five players the Frenchman should go all out to sign…
 5. Fernando Amorebieta (Athletic Bilbao)
Atletico Bilbao Fernando AmorebietaA new centre-back has to be a priority for Arsene Wenger this summer with the Arsenal boss unable to find a regular pairing at the heart of his defence this season.
The Gunners reportedly had a January deadline day bid rejected for towering Venezuelan centre-half Fernando Amorebieta and it is thought the 27-year-old, who has been with Athletic Bilbao for his entire career, will be targeted by the North Londoners again in the summer.
Liverpool are also in the frame to sign the ball-playing defender, who is refusing to sign a new contract at San Mames and will therefore be available at a cut-price.

4. Sebastian Rode (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Sebastian Rode FrankfurtNot the marquee signing that most Arsenal fans would want, but German midfielder Sebastian Rode could well be joining compatriots Per Mertesacker and Lucas Podolski at the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
The 22-year-old German under-21 international is an ever present for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga this season in a surprise season for the club, and with only 18 months of his contract to run is expected to be sold in the summer for big money. Arsenal just need to beat off interest from Tottenham to secure him.

3. Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)
Tottenham Hotspur eye big-money swoop for Aston Villa's Christian BentekeRegardless of whether Aston Villa are relegated from the Premier League or not, there is going to one mighty scramble for the signature of star striker Christian Benteke in the summer with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham among those in the frame.
It could take a club record £16million or more to capture the giant Belgian international forward, but he could be exactly what Arsenal need – an exceptional targetman to base the 4-3-3 formation around – to get back to fighting boss.

2. David Villa (Barcelona)
David Villa Barcelona 2Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tried desperately to bring David Villa to the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window, offering £17million to Barcelona to sign the Spanish international forward.
That offer was turned down, but a second attempt is expected in the summer when Barcelona are more likely to willing to part company with the World Cup and European Championship winner. Thomas Vermaelen is wanted by Barcelona so some form of swap deal could leave to Arsenal getting their man.
1. Stevan Jovetic (Fiorentina)
Stevan Jovetic FiorentinaArsenal are thought to have made a deadline day for Fiorentina star striker Stevan Jovetic, dubbed the new Robin van Persie.
The 23-year-old Montenegro international has scored 11 times in 20 appearances for the Viola this term and is likely to leave the club for a huge fee in the summer if the Florence outfit fail to secure European football.
Jovetic would cost the Gunners far more than the club record £15m they paid for Andrei Arshavin but he has the versatility to play in a number of positions and is a proven top-level goalscorer.

Arsenal plan sensational summer replacement move!

It seems that boss Arsene Wenger has had enough with some of his current stars and has planned on making a few changes in the summer which starts with Wojciech Szczesny.
One certain change is Szczesny giving way for a new first-choice goalkeeper after the 22-year-old’s error allowed Colin Kazim-Richards to score the decisive goal in Blackburn’s 1-0 win.
Wenger is targeting Liverpool’s Pepe Reina to replace the Pole. (Daily Mail)
It is pretty much clear to every Gunner that the Gunners are not the force they once were and are lacking world-class players. So when the summer transfer window opens up they must delve into their pockets and spend the vast amount of fortunes they reportedly have on taking some of Europe’s best footballers to the Emirates.

Arsenal hero keen on return

Thierry Henry has declared that he hopes to return to Arsenal in the future.
The Frenchman enjoyed a successful stint with the Gunners between 1999 and 2007, winning two Premier League titles and threeFA Cups.
He left the club to join Barcelona before eventually moving MLS club New York Red Bulls, where he is still playing at the age of 35.
Since being in America, he has re-joined Arsenal on loan in 2012, and was expected to repeat the move earlier this winter.
Despite failing to secure a move back to the Emirates Stadium last month, Henry is still hopeful that he will spend a third spell with the club once his time in New York ends:
“All I know is that I will be involved in the game for sure and hopefully be involved with Arsenal because that is the heart talking there, that’s the team that I support. Forget about me as a player, that’s the team I support.” He is quoted by the Daily Mail.
“In any type or shape, if I can go back to the club I would love to do it, but it’s not up to me. That would be a desire, more a desire than something that can be officialised, I still have two years playing here and then I will see.
“But I would definitely love to be back with Arsenal.”
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come in for criticism this season, with his side performing below expectations.
Henry is saddened by the treatment his former boss is receiving, and believes that his past glories should be appreciated to a greater extent by the fans:
“When you don’t win people are always going to question your work, your legacy and what you did before. It is sad somehow but that is the way the game is. What are you going to do?”
“For me, it is difficult to hear, difficult to see, but for me the boss will always be Arsene – always great for me and I know what he has done for the club.”
